Excessive Hair Loss?

I know i have asked the same question over and over again today but I am not getting the responses I hoped for. I know thyroid conditions can cause hair loss but my labwork which was only a couple months ago was normal and this has been going on for a long time. I do have stress but have had way more then I do now and I never lost hair during those times as I always had very long thick hair and i mean too thick and i use to actually have to go and have it thinned. What I am asking of everyone is to give me names of any products out that that can slow the hair loss before I go bald. I am losing almost 10 times the amount of hair a person should lose everyday. I fill the toilet everyday to the point you can't see the bottom. This has been going on for almost a year now and by the looks of it if it doesn't slow down I am going to be bald and this alone is stressing me. Please if anyone out there has tried any products that have worked for them please let me know as I am getting scared.Excessive Hair Loss?
Here are some reasons:

1) If you have natural curley hair, you are not brushing your hair very much. Then when you do, lots comes out in the brush. It's normal. I have natural curley hair and when I wash it, there is always a pile in the hair trap in the shower.

2) If you are a continual dieter, you are not eating enough protein.

3) If your hair does really look like it is getting thin, it is because you are not brushing it enough. I think we each lose about 100 hairs a day naturally which are replaced.Excessive Hair Loss?
Fekkai is suppose to have a good product for that. Bath and body works will began caring it July 9th. Also try some prenatal vitamins or horse hair vitamins from the health food store.
are you restricting your caloric intake a lot? that can cause hair loss. maybe have your hormone levels checked. I'm losing hair too- and getting nervous about it. good luck

Excessive hair loss...??

When I wash my hair,it comes out in clumps and as for brushing the hair brush is constantly full.Over the past four months it has got worse.Im a 48 femaile and have a healthy diet.Any suggestions?Excessive hair loss...??
My suggestion is that you get your thyroid checked. If it is low it can cause all kinds of hair loss! It is easily treated and medicated by simply going to a doctor.

Other than that make sure you massage your scalp when washing it and eat plenty of iron rich foods and protein in addition to the other things that are good for your diet.

Excessive hair loss?!?

I lose alot of hair everyday- a big wad in the shower and a ton while blowdrying?straightening it. I know losing some hair is normal, but I really feel like mine is excessive. What can I do to prevent this or strengthen my hair?? Any sort of vitamin?? Or....??

Thanks!Excessive hair loss?!?
1. Choose your products well. Products that are too harsh and are not deemed safe for consumer use may cause untold damage to your hair. Prevent hair loss by not being too vain with your hair.

2. Regular aerobic exercise. Swimming, running, walking, cycling and other similar activities will promote proper blood flow and nutrient distribution.

3. Reduce stress

4. Food nutrition - protein or iron in your diet

5. Viyamin

- inositol can help prevent the hair from falling.

- Niacin (vitamin B-3) can promote the blood circulation to the scalp and hence make hair healthy.

- Panthenol (vitamin B-5) can prevent hair loss and also aids with your hair regrowth.

- Biotin helps in preventing the hair from premature graying and is also does a great deal to help keep hair from falling out.

- Vitamins B-6 and B-12 will make hair roots stronger.

- Vitamin E is also believed to aid in helping to prevent hair loss. This is because it is an antioxidant that stimulates the scalp as it increases the blood circulation.

- Vitamin A is essential for over-all good health and moreover, it is also very useful to hair follicles, as it keeps the hair root firmer and stronger.

- Vitamin C is equally good for hair.Excessive hair loss?!?
Hey RedySetGo,

Nothing can be more devastating for a women than to realize that her hair is coming out far more extensively and rapidly than is normal. (Normal is 100-150 strands a day).

Each hair grows for a period of 2-6 years, goes through a short dormant period and then falls out as the follicle pushes through a new hair.

When new hairs do not replace the old or when hair is coming out in clumps or sections, there is definite cause for concern.

Here are a couple of recipes you can make at home to control hair loss:

Massage hair with olive hair and leave over night. Wash off the next day as usual. Olive oil works as a hair tonic. It is also referred to as liquid gold for the hair. Olive oil is rich in essential fatty acids which keep the hair cuticles moisturized.

Massage coconut milk into the roots. Make sure you cover the full scalp. Leave for an hour and wash off with warm water. Using it 3 - 4 times a week will give amazing results. And this makes you smell yummy too!
I can tell that products like Hair Genesis work, and you also get a chance to test it. It works like a supplement working from inside with vitamins and herbs etc.

You also need direct treatment of the scalp from the outside. I have found a great trick, combine more than one hair loss treatment product and you get the best result.

I even had hair loss for a stress, and use the Hair Genesis (I bought from this store %26gt; http://bit.ly/1FdwM9, with $20 off, every time!), and my hair returned to normal shortly.
They have some shampoo and conditioners designed to strengthen hair. Try that. I lose a lot of hair too, but I don't think that much.

And like lesson said, you may have a lot of stress, which causes more hair loss.
Depends on your age, but the major contributor is STRESS - so get rid of it
ok go to a doctor or something?

Excessive hair loss...?

im only 18 and every time i run my fingers through my hair i pull out a handful of hair, and every time i take a shower and brush my hair it comes out in globs. you know how when you don't clean the hair out of your brush for a few weeks and then when you finally do its a big glob of hair? well that's what mine does in one time of brushing. has this ever happened to anyone before? if so does anyone know what could be causing this?Excessive hair loss...?
A year or so ago I was having the same problem as you are, with the hair loss. Have you been feeling tired? Ill? Anything like that? I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism which explained why my hair was falling out. There are a number of medical conditions that could be causing this or you could be not getting enough vitamins to stimulate hair growth. Your best bet would be to go to a doctor and check it out. Better to be safe, you know?Excessive hair loss...?
This type of hair loss (telogen effluvium) is becoming more common with teens and young women. There are many possible causes. Thinking back 1-3 months prior to hair loss can provide clues. Any new medication, birth control. vaccination, illness, infection, diet, weight loss, etc? There may also be a nutritional deficiency, health condition etc. It is important to try to pinpoint to cause. The following website has a lot of information and articles on teenage hair loss, including causes. Essential oil scalp massage may be very helpful.
Hair loss is caused by many reasons such as malnutrition, illness, tension and other health problems.Perming, straightening, hair dyeing and bleaching ,hot combing, using heated rollers and hot wax inevitably damage the hair.Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
girl it is normal to loose at least 100 hairs a day....that is normal, if you feel it is more than that it could be stress, if your hair is long that will look like a lot of hair. as long as it doesn't feel thinner and no bold spots are popping up you will be ok. check your diet as well, if you haven't been eating like you are supposed to that will come out in your hair as well.
Well we do loose about 100 hairs a day if you think its more than that it might be several things, stress, chemicals(over processing),diet, hormones, meds, and more talk to your doctor for blood test also...
you need to see your doctor, and they will either refer you to someone or help you there. you could have a scalp condition thats causing this...or just genetics.

make an appointment ASAP

Good Luck!
Do you color your hair a lot? That could cause it.
Make an appt. with the doctor you could have a Thyroid problem.

Anyone know of any products out there that I can use to slow my hair loss?Excessive Hair Loss?
Before you consider remedies, it's important to know why you're losing your hair. I recommend that you make an appointment with your doctor to address your concerns.Excessive Hair Loss?
maybe Nioxin shampoo and conditioner?? i know many people use this when their hair falls out or thins out, before using any rogaine or anything like that though i would probably see a doctor first because i've heard of people using that and then stopping and the minute they stopped A LOT of hair started falling out, i think once you start you are not supposed to stop...

Not that don't cost a fortune or has to be used forever. have you had your Thyroid checked? Possible one of the side effects of some med your taking ? Under a lot of stress? Recently been pregnant,? Or on a protien diet, All of these things can cause thinning hair.
Start getting more protein in your diet, that is often a quick remedy for hair loss. Try for at least 60g per day.

Is there any reason for your hair loss? Stress, illness, rapid weight loss, %26amp; recent surgery all can have cause your hair to fall out. 3 months after I had surgery my hair fell out in handfulls due to the anesthesia. Luckily, it all grew back.

If you cannot figure out why your hair is falling out, you might want to consult a doctor for a complete blood workup. There are many easily fixed hormonal imbalances that can cause hair loss.

All I can think of is rogain for women. Yep, it's out there. Another thing that can be causing you to lose your hair might stress, or if you just got on or off of birth control. I had the same problem. If you are losing your hair due to kemo I don't think there is anything that can keep it from falling out any slower. Good Luck!Excessive Hair Loss?
Sometimes a vitamin deficiency can cause hair loss...try a multi-vitamin...it may help :)
use sunsilk anti-caida it makes your hair loss days over

    hopes this help

    Excessive Hair Loss?

Does Nioxin help stop hair loss? I have been experiencing excess hair loss and just purchased Nioxin have used it 2 weeks but see no difference yet. I use to have very thick hair and now I'm getting down to where I am going to have bald patches soon because of the amount I'm losing. I am desparate for answers right now!Excessive Hair Loss?
make an appointment with your family doctor. a lot of the hair growth products sold in stores such a rogaine-i'm not familiar with nioxin so i can't tell you much about that-are very deceiving...and they certainly don't work for everyone. you could end up doing more harm than good in trying these products without your doctor's permission. whether your lossing hair due to stress or something more serious, your doctor will definitely have better answers for you than the people on here!! good luck!Excessive Hair Loss?
I used Nioxin for my hair and didn't see a big difference. Although we may have different problems. My hair is very dry and breaks so it is becoming very thin. I'm not losing hair at the scalp which seems to be the problem with you. My stylist recommended Nioxin but it didn't help me. Hope it helps you! Keep using it, though. Good luck!
